About us
Basketball for Children is a basketball academy that aims to give children from low-income backgrounds in Colombia the opportunity to learn and practice basketball for free, while instilling important values such as discipline, perseverance, respect for the game, resilience, and all the other values that come from regular practice of a sport. In addition to the necessary physical training for any athlete, we aim to develop the children's minds and bodies, providing them with a different life option. Children from low-income backgrounds in Colombia typically face challenging environments and social systems that lead them down harmful paths for their lives and society. This is why Basketball for Children is important, as we use basketball as a means to show these children a different path, a life option that they can develop and pursue. Our mission is to give these children's lives a purpose through sports, which can lead them away from the negative paths that they are often exposed to.
Our Mission
Our mission is to transform the lives of low-income children in Colombia through basketball and values education. Our goal is to give these children a purpose to strive for, leading them to take a different path in life where they can find something they are passionate about, develop their athletic skills, strengthen their character, and become integral citizens who can contribute positively to society.
Our Vision
We envision a society where university students, professionals, entrepreneurs, workers, and professional basketball players can say that thanks to Basketball for Children, they found a different path that allowed them to transform their lives. We dream of impacting the lives of more than 10,000 underprivileged children using basketball as a transformative vehicle.
